This NIP defines a simple way for receiving traditional emails on Nostr.

Abstract#

Email gateway services receive emails and forward them as NIP-17 direct messages. The DMs are readable in any NIP-17 compatible client without requiring special implementation.

Email gateways#

Email gateways may not forward your email and ask a payment or a proof of work to send it.

The DM can be plain text or a screenshot or a link to a website or whatever else.
